Project Description
The project will construct an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible path connecting the University of Colorado main campus to the North of Boulder Creek Neighborhood. The trail will start at the North end of the Buff Walk near Stadium Drive and connect to the Multi Use trail along the North side of Boulder Creek. The work includes but is not limited to:
- 270’ long x 10’ wide seven span pedestrian bridge
- Site retaining walls
- Earthwork
- Removal of existing bridges
- Concrete bikeway
- Site lighting
- Landscaping and irrigation
- Traffic control
The project is partially funded by a grant for the Colorado Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). Specific federal requirements related to the HMGP grant are included in the Supplemental General Conditions to Contractor’s Design/Bid/Build Agreement.
The State of Colorado strongly encourages small and minority businesses and women’s business enterprises to participate in this invitation to bid.
Minimum Requirements
Notice is hereby given to all interested parties that all firms will be required to meet all minimum requirements to be considered for this project. To be considered as qualified, interested firms shall have, as a minimum:
1. Prequalification from the Colorado Department of Transportation for bridge projects $3,000,000 or above.
2. Provided type of contracting services within the last three (3) years for at least two (2) projects each in excess of $2,500,00.00 (hard costs), utilizing the expertise present in their Colorado Office; and
3. Demonstrated specific type of contracting services and experience in projects of similar scope and complexity; and
4. Demonstrated bonding capability up to $3,000,000.00 for an individual project coincidentally with current and anticipated workloads; provide letter from surety that affirms this capacity.
