NOTICE CALLING FOR BIDS
Project: Fire Sprinkler & Fire Alarm Systems and Entry ADA Ramp Specification No. 264.1601.10 / Project No. G618122
Sealed bids for construction services will be received at RED Architectural Group, 3436 N. Verdugo Road, Suite 200, Glendale, CA 91208 until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 03, 2018 at which time all bids will be opened. Project location is the Glendale YWCA, 735 E. Lexington Avenue, Glendale, CA 91206. The work shall be done in accordance with the instructions to Bidders. NO LATE BIDS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
BIDS MUST BE MADE ON THE FORMS CONTAINED WITHIN THE BID PACKAGE
The project is funded, in part, with public and federal funds and is therefore a “public work” subject to the provisions of California Labor Code Section 1720 and Federal Labor Standards Provisions. Contractor awarded this contract and all Subcontractors of any tier shall not pay less than the minimum prevailing rate of per diem wages for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to perform the work. The Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California, pursuant to the California Labor Code, and the United States Secretary of Labor, pursuant to the Davis-Bacon Act, have determined the general prevailing rates of wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed.
Pursuant to Senate Bill 854 (Stat. 2014, chapter 28), no contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and no contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations). In addition, DBE/WBE Utilization and Equal Employment Opportunity Program requirements apply.
The Work to be performed under this Contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 USC 1701u (“Section 3”). The purpose of Section 3 of to ensure that employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD assistance or HUD-assisted projects covered by Section 3, shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to low and very low income persons, particularly persons who are recipients of HUD assistance for housing.
Bidders shall be licensed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 111 of the Business and Professions code of the State of California. The owner reserves the rig ht to reject any and all Bids, to award all or any individual part/item of the Bid, and to waive any informalities or technical defects, whichever may be in the best interest of the owner.
A mandatory pre-bid job walk will be held on the project site located at 735 E. Lexington Avenue, Glendale, CA 91206 at 10:00 a.m. sharp, Thursday, April 19, 2018. Attendance is mandatory for bidders. Those not in attendance will not be allowed to bid. Specifications and drawings will not be available at the job walk and must be downloaded as noted below by bidder.
